Parent Presence Policy
Effective August 1, 2026
At Green Valley Therapy, the safety and well-being of our clients is our highest priority. To support a safe, responsive, and consistent environment, we require a parent, legal guardian, or another authorized adult to remain inside the building during appointments for certain minor clients.
Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to:
Children under the age of 12
In-person appointments at any Green Valley Therapy location
This policy does not apply to telehealth appointments.
Parent Presence Requirement
A parent, legal guardian, or another adult authorized by the parent or legal guardian must remain inside the building for the duration of the child's appointment, including while the therapy session is in progress.
Waiting in your vehicle or leaving the property does not satisfy this requirement.
Why This Policy Is Important
Remaining in the building allows our team to quickly reach you if:
Your child requests you during the appointment.
A clinical or behavioral concern arises.
An emergency occurs.
Your therapist or a member of our staff needs to speak with you before the appointment concludes.
This policy helps us:
Enhance the safety of our younger clients.
Respond promptly when a child needs their caregiver.
Facilitate timely communication between therapists and families.
Maintain consistent safety procedures across all Green Valley Therapy locations.
