Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are in-network with several major insurance providers. Please visit our Rates & Insurance page for the most up-to-date list, or contact us directly and we’ll be happy to help verify your benefits. We also offer superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if we are not in-network with your plan. Please note that we do not accept insurance for couples or family therapy due to the insurance restrictions.

Do you offer evening or weekend appointments?

We understand how busy life can be. We do have therapists that offer evening and weekend availability to accommodate your schedule. Availability varies by provider, so reach out and we’ll do our best to match you with someone whose hours work for you.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, we offer secure telehealth sessions across Maryland. Whether you’re at home or in a private space elsewhere, you can receive care in a way that’s flexible and comfortable.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?

That’s a valid concern—and one we hear often. Our team takes a personalized, relational approach. We work to understand what didn’t work in the past and adjust to meet your specific needs in the present.

What ages do you work with?

We provide therapy for children, teens, and adults. Whether it’s child therapy for young children or talk therapy for adults navigating life’s complexities, our team offers specialized support across the lifespan.

How do you find a match for me or my child?

When you complete our appointment request form, you'll be asked to select the options that best describe the concerns, goals, or areas where you or your child are seeking support. We use that information, along with factors such as insurance participation, availability, and any preferences you share, to recommend a provider who may be a good fit.

Finding the right therapist is a personal process, and while we can't guarantee a perfect match from the start, we do our best to connect you with a provider whose experience and approach align with your needs.

How long does therapy last?

Therapy looks different for everyone. Some people find relief in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll work collaboratively with you to determine the right pace and frequency.

Already Have an Appointment?

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know you, your story, goals, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll explore how we can best support you and create a personalized plan moving forward. We’ll also set the expectations for the therapeutic relationship.

Where do I get the link for my telehealth session, and when will I receive it?

For telehealth appointments, a session link will be sent to the email address associated with your Jane account at least 30 minutes before the appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, as well as missed appointments (no-shows), are subject to a $100 fee.

If something comes up, please contact us as soon as possible. We can often switch your appointment to telehealth or help you find an alternative solution to avoid missing your session.

You can review our Cancellation Policy here.

Do I need to pay before my appointment?

No. We do not collect payment before your appointment. After your visit, we will bill your insurance and determine any client responsibility based on the information provided by your insurance company.

How do I know what my insurance will pay for?

While we verify benefits whenever possible, some insurance plans do not provide complete coverage information in advance. In those cases, the exact amount you may owe is not known until your insurance claim has been processed and an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is received.

If you have questions about your coverage, copay, deductible, or coinsurance, we encourage you to contact your insurance company directly, as they can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information about your plan.
