Adam's therapeutic philosophy is both person-centered and holistic, recognizing that healing happens across all dimensions of life. He works primarily with teen boys and adults who are ready to address trauma, move past what's holding them back, and discover their capacity for growth and resilience.

A lifelong Maryland resident, Adam has been married for over 25 years and is the father of four adult children. When he's not working with clients, you'll find him outdoors, camping, hiking, or simply enjoying nature. He shares his home with two dogs and three potbelly pigs, whose presence offers daily reminders about patience, routine, and the grounding power of caring for living things.

Adam Delauter brings the same commitment to service that defined his military career to his work as a therapist. As a retired Army combat veteran who served in Iraq, Adam understands firsthand the weight of traumatic experiences and the path toward healing. After years of military service, he found another way to serve, helping others navigate the lasting impact of trauma and reclaim their lives.

Licensed in both Maryland and West Virginia, Adam specializes in trauma-informed care with a focus on post-traumatic growth. His approach centers on Forward-Facing Trauma Therapy (FFTT), which examines how traumatic events and painful past memories impact the present and, more importantly, how to stop their negative influence on the future. Rather than staying stuck in what happened, Adam helps clients build forward momentum toward the lives they want to live.

Since 2018, Adam has worked as an inpatient therapist and crisis counselor, developing expertise in supporting individuals through their most challenging moments. He takes an eclectic, solution-focused approach that draws from multiple evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Motivational Interviewing. This flexibility allows him to meet each client where they are and adapt his approach to what works best for them.
